To All The Boys Ive Loved Before was a block buster to say the least. Co-stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo have openly flirted in order to increase the success of their movie. People were definitely wondering if they were dating in real life. Not just because of their chemistry in the movie, but because they exchange flirty messages in plain sight. Centineo once said in a video on social media "Lana Condor, you are the love of my life." He also posted a photo of them together on instagram and wrote in the cation, "She melts my heart." This helped to increase the revenue of To All The Boys Ive Loved Before , as they created both on screen and off screen chemistry. Condor told Cosmopolitan why the two answered dating questions the way they did. "Noah and I definitely encouraged the speculation," she said. "But it's because we believe in the story and the characters and we genuinely love each other. You can truly love someone in a very platonic wa...

The plot of Kissing Booth is nothing new: spunky high school junior Elle (Joey King) begins a forbidden romance with long-term crush Noah (Jacob Elordi) after kissing him at the school carnival, risking her best friendship with his younger brother, Lee (Joel Courtney), who exists in Noah's shadow. The cast of the show had a Netflix special promotion, which showed the three main characters doing the "Kissing Challenge", showing the cast members blind-folded kissing random objects. I would change this by doing something extremely similar, for example releasing a fun and relatable YouTube video so that people would learn to like the actors and want to see the movie.

The Fault In Our Stars is a powerful movie that has a similar demographic to the one I am trying to reach, therefor, their online and media marketing and advertising is something that would in turn reach my own audience. The author of the book, The Fault In Our Stars,  John Green not only has multiple books on the New York Times Best Seller list, but is also an Internet phenomenon. He and his brother have been running a video Tumblr blog for seven years called Vlogbrothers full of entertaining rants on many topics that has gathered a huge following online. The blog has over two million subscribers, along with a YouTube channel with over 600 million total views. There are 43 individual Tumblr blogs dedicated to The Fault In Our Stars , and John Green himself has approximately 30 meme sites about him. It's safe to say that majority of this captured audience is from the millennial/gen z crowd. With this demographic group consuming up to 18 hours of media a day, the majority ...

Marketing Plan

Based on my marketing research found within other films, I have decided to use social media to promote my film. Similar to many films and television shows, I will make an Instagram account for my company and film. I will include behind the scenes footage as well as inspirational acting quotes and updates within our company. Including multiple aspects of filming, such as editing, recording, filming, meetings, and updates on the film will intrigue a large audience as it has something for everyone. As I needed a company name, I was inspired me to create BluLight Films, as a means to show that I am a small filming company interested in making more movies and a name for my company is the film industry. I am using Instagram because it allows followers and fans to follow, share, and like our account and posts, spreading the word about what we do. This is extremely beneficial to getting our company and film name out there. Below is the homepage for my Instagram.

Target Audience Research

To promote her new film,  Mother's Day,  Jennifer Aniston became a prominent spokesperson for Aveeno Lotion. She appeared in multiple commercials, testifying for its promising results. Within the movie, she portrays a mother of two children however, she has wrinkle-less and age-less skin, perfectly colored blonde hair, and flawless makeup. Older women and mothers who watch the commercials may recognize Aniston and be more inclined to see the movie and buy the lotion, desiring to look like her. My group learned that by promoting a film through a product can be extremely effective. By connecting the product to our film, we would be successful in having more people who buy the product relate that with our film and therefore going to see it. However, though this advertisement technique is useful and effective, we would need a different product for our film as we target different audiences.

Another popular film recently released by Netflix has also rapidly grown much success.  T he Kissing Booth,  shortly after its  release on May 18, 2016, was promoted through a video distributed by Teen Vogue on YouTube on June 25, giving enthusiastic watchers more content of the comedic cast. In the video,  Compliment Battle ,  Joey King and Joel Courtney, stars of the film T he Kissing Booth, try their best to read complimentary tweets from fans without bursting out laughing. Through the video, they react from funny tweets from their fans, involving the audience and encouraging them to watch the film and send more tweets. This motivates watchers to become more involved in the film's media presence and promote the film through word of mouth and online. This film, similar to To All the Boys I've Ever Loved Before, is directed towards all audiences, however, it is most likely that younger audiences will be more inclined to watch due to relatability. Similarly,...

Target Audience Research

While planning our revisions, it is important to research advertisement tactics that other movies have employed in order to promote their film. The popular Netflix romantic comedy,  To All the Boys I've Loved Before,  released a promotional video including three main cast members. In the video,  Kiss and Tell,  L ana Condor, Noah Centineo, and Israel Broussard, blindfolded, kiss weird objects and try to guess what they are. The Netflix original film was available for streaming on August 17, 2018, and not long after, due to the major success of the film, Netflix released a video on YouTube shortly after, giving the fans more footage of the beloved film's cast. This helped create more attention for the actors and the film itself. As To All the Boys I've Loved Before  is a romantic comedy much like ours, I decided that this promotional video was perfect example of raising awareness. It would be interesting to see how Marin and I would choose to incorporate similar ...
